As an Automation Engineer on our Infrastructure Team, you will:
Automate and Optimize Our Tech Platform and Infrastructure: Develop and manage automation processes to boost the efficiency and reliability of our infrastructure and Kubernetes platform, focusing on streamlining operations to support our rapidly evolving tech environment.
Enhance and Maintain Internal Operations: Collaborate with various teams to automate internal operations, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency. You'll oversee the maintenance and optimization of automation tools such as Torq and potentially others like Rundeck, with opportunities to influence key decisions on tool selection and deployment.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Infrastructure, Developer Experience (DevEx), and Security teams to enhance internal platform operations. Your cooperative efforts will aim at improving operational efficiency and integrating robust automation solutions across these essential functions.
Develop in Python and Go: Lead automation projects using Python as the primary language, while utilizing Go for various applications, including developing Kubernetes operators and command-line interface (CLI) solutions to meet diverse operational needs.
Document and Share Knowledge: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of automation processes and systems to empower teams and ensure consistency in operational excellence.
Identify and Resolve Automation Challenges: Proactively troubleshoot, optimize, and refine automation processes, focusing on maintaining robust and agile infrastructure operations, including tools like Torq and contributing to decisions about additional tools.
Your Profile
Experience:
Over 5 years of experience in related fields such as software engineering or backend development.
Proven ability to integrate and leverage automation tools to streamline and optimize technical platforms.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Python, with a solid understanding of or willingness to learn Go for developing Kubernetes operators and CLI tools.
Strong experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
Familiarity with automation tools like Torq or Rundeck, and the ability to evaluate and implement new tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience with tools like Terraform.
