As a Senior FinOps Engineer in our FinOps team, you will:
Cost Management and Optimization – Monitor cloud usage and expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize spending through efficient technologies.
Financial Analysis and Reporting – Provide detailed financial reports on cloud spending and resources to support cost optimization efforts and strategic decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting – Assist in cloud budget planning and forecasting, tracking spending against budgets, and providing variance analysis to finance teams.
Cloud Resource Management – Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of cloud resources, collaborating with platform teams for cost-effective architectural decisions and implementing automation strategies.
Stakeholder Collaboration – Collaborate closely with platform, finance, and operations teams to align cloud strategies with business goals, communicate cost trends, and provide training on financial management best practices.
Policy and Governance – Develop and enforce financial governance policies for cloud usage, conducting audits to ensure adherence to management practices.
Tool Development and Management – Implement and manage FinOps tools for cost tracking and optimization, continuously enhancing financial management capabilities.
Continuous Learning and Improvement – Stay updated on the latest cloud products, technologies, and trends to inform the organization of new opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Experience:
Proven experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, Solution Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for process automation and data analysis.
Solid understanding of financial principles with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Data-driven and detail-oriented, with a focus on testing, measuring, and refining optimization strategies.
Familiarity with monitoring and measuring cloud performance to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
Soft Skills:
